The Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute (“HKJCDPRI”), in collaboration with the Department of Early Childhood Education of the Education University of Hong Kong, is organising a “Teaching Plan Design Competition on Disaster Education” (the “Competition”) to encourage serving kindergarten teachers in Hong Kong to devise teaching and learning activities on disaster preparedness, response and recovery for their students. Through this competition, we hope to sharpen awareness and knowledge of kindergarten teachers and students on various natural and man-made disasters.
Since 2014, the HKJCDPRI has tried every endeavour to enhance awareness and knowledge of the public on disaster preparedness and response through different educational programmes. It also persistently draws public concern that disaster preparation education should be started from kindergartens. Let’s join hands to build a safe and resilient community!
